How to Submit a Calendar Event or News Item

Background:

For many years Members had the privilege of posting mindfulness events they were associated with or mindfulness news items in the website Event Calendar or News tab.

Those who did enriched the usefulness of the calendar as a go to place to find mindfulness events in Hamilton and area.

However, few members took advantage of this opportunity. The principal obstacle was technical, and having the knowledge and courage to use the website software, which is always evolving, rendering the step by step tutorials less helpful.

Mindfulness Hamilton will now post Events and News items on behalf of members.

We are confident that this new infusion of mindfulness event information from any of our members who wish to share news of a mindfulness event they teach or are involved with will mean that our community Events Calendar will become even more useful and our News tab more interesting.

Here are some guidelines for submissions.

Our website uses WordPress software. The Event Calendar program needs to have information entered manually, as the there is standard format in terms of Font, etc

Images: JPG BMP or GIF images (can’t use PDF)

Square images please to save us having to crop

Text: Entered separately via cut and paste

Hypertexting is done from within the editing program

If you are sending an event poster with all the necessary information we need to be able to cut and paste from it. For example this could be a PDF with copying enabled.

Please sent your requests to info@mindfulnesshamilton.ca with a brief covering note telling us about your relationship if any to the event.

Posting will be done as soon as possible depending on our ability to provide the technical assistance via a paid person and or volunteer.
