“The Way Out Is In”: An Evening of Meditation, Music & Poetry May 2 at 7:00 pm EST

The Buddhism, Psychology and Mental Health Program, the Robert H.N. Ho Family Foundation Centre for Buddhist Studies, and New College are proud to co-sponsor a series of events hosted by a delegation of monastics in the tradition of Plum Village, founded by the internationally renowned scholar, peace activist and Zen Master, Thich Nhat Hanh. A 2.5-hour meditative event with a wide range of musical and cultural styles, ranging from classical orchestral to hip hop, featuring the monastics of Plum Village, artist Born I, and friends.

Time: 7:00 pm – 9:30 pm, doors open 6:00 pm

Location: William Doo Auditorium, New College, University of Toronto Downtown Campus

This special two-hour event includes a wide range of musical/cultural styles, ranging from classical orchestral to hip hop. Through meditation, poetry readings and musical performance we will explore and honor the legacy of scholar, poet, peace activist and Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. The evening’s program has been curated by senior monastic Dharma teachers from Thich Nhat Hanh’s Plum Village centre in France. Drawing upon the diverse backgrounds and perspectives of our professional performers, our aspiration is to collectively co-create an atmosphere of peace and joy that can be healing and inspiring for all those in attendance.
