Mindfulness is a way of meeting life’s challenges with greater calm and wisdom by paying attention to the present moment with openness and curiosity. Mindfulness is fast becoming a proven way for leaders to sustain themselves and their teams in challenging times. These workshops will introduce formal leaders to mindfulness concepts and practices, exploring the synergy between mindfulness, self-reflection and effective leadership. Participants will be given tools to promote personal self -awareness, stress management, resilience and emotional/physical well-being. Leadership effectiveness will be enhanced through exposure to practices that develop listening and communication skills, sharpen focus, improve interpersonal relationships and deepen wisdom to enable better decision-making.
There are 2 full-day workshops: Part 1 and Part 2. Part 1 can be taken on its own or combined with Part 2. Part 1 will introduce basic concepts and skills, as well as illustrate ways that mindful leadership can be applied in day-to-day situations. Part 2 will allow participants the opportunity to examine typical leadership challenges in greater depth, using the skills of mindful leadership.
Each workshop will involve a variety of mindfulness exercises.
These workshops are based on the book Mindful Leadership by Maria Gonzalez, which will be on loan to participants. Audio practices will also be provided.
