DESCRIPTION:JAN 2020 ******NIAGARA REGION WILL BE OFFERING \nA MINDFULNESS BASED STRESS REDUCTION (MBSR) PROGRAM \nLOCATION: The Village Hall Sanctuary 176 Elm Street\, Port Colborne \nTuesday Evenings 6:30-8:30 pm \nStarting Jan 20-Mar 10-2020 \n8 week series + 4 hour silent retreat. This 8 week experiential program with Kelly and Jen develops in participants a foundation in mindfulness practice. \nThe program begins with an Orientation Session scheduled on Jan 7 at 6:30 pm\, followed by 22 hours of direct instruction\, including a meditation  retreat and daily home practices. \nMBSR is an 8-week\, once weekly\, group program that was developed in 1979\, by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn and associates at the University of Massachusetts Centre for Mindfulness in Medicine\, Healthcare and Society. The curriculum is based on the emerging field of Mind-Body Medicine and as a result\, MBSR is now an internationally acclaimed program with a growing body of research supporting its efficacy and potential benefits for a variety of populations. \nThrough intentional training in Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction strategies\, participants will learn to mobilize their own inner resources to activate learning\, growth and healing while increasing emotional regulation and enhancing self-care and interpersonal relationships. \nDates and Times:\n1 orientation session (mandatory) on Tuesday Jan 7th\, 2020 at 630 pm \nFollowed by 8 weekly sessions beginning Tuesday\, Jan 20th\, 2020 to Mar 10\, 2020. \nSessions are from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm. \n4 hrs Mindful Awakening Retreat \nRegistration\n$220.00 per person (save 20.00 if you register before Jan 7th\, 2020)\, includes 1 orientation session\, 8 weekly classes\, Mindful Awakening Retreat\, online access to PDF and MP3 downloads of guided meditations for home practice. \nMaximum number of participants: 18 students \nTo Register or ask Questions contact Kelly & Jen @  kjminfulnessliving@gmail.com
