SUMMARY:Stress Reduction and Mindfulness Training
DESCRIPTION:Mountain Wellness Center offers monthly workshops\, based on the teachings of the MBSR program by Jon Kabat-Zinn. The workshops take place on the 3rd Sunday of each month. ( excluding July & August) and run throughout all of 2019. Each class is $50\, and runs from 11-3PM.                                        In addition to following the MBSR teachings\, we also have time for formal practice and group discussion. \nThese classes are facilitated by Andi D. SUMMARY:DECLUTTER YOUR MIND to Live a Happier\, Healthier\, Less Stressful Life
DESCRIPTION:DECLUTTER YOUR MIND. \nThe benefits of decluttering your home and office have been proven time and time again. By getting rid of things that you no longer need\, you free up the physical space around you to provide better focus on what’s important. \nNow just imagine what would happen if you decluttered your mind. \nBy learning to slow the never-ending stream of thoughts in your mind you can free up the brain space to be present with the people and things that are truly important in your life. You can literally rewire your brain to stop dwelling on things in the past\, or worrying so much about the future and find peace and presence right now. \nIn as little as 10 minutes a day\, the tools you learn will help you achieve your goals\, improve your relationships\, and reduce stress and anxiety. Seriously. \nImagine waking up each morning feeling more rested. \nImagine that when you are stuck in a traffic jam you can remain calm. \nImagine being able to stop worrying about things all the time\, and watching your anxiety decrease. \nImagine watching all your relationships – from your kids or spouse to clients and coworkers – visibly improve. \nYou deserve to do this for yourself. And you owe it to the people closest to you to be showing up as the best version of yourself for them each day. \nI can’t wait to see you there! \n— \n6 sessions in total. \n7pm to 9:30pm Monday evenings beginning February 25th to April 15Th (inclusive\, with two weeks off) \n— \nABOUT THIS COURSE \nA combination of personal development and mindfulness-based exercises and techniques will be taught during this course. You will be guided to create your own personalized toolbox to pull from when you need it most – helping you to lead a healthier\, happier and less stressful life. \nFebruary 25th: Rewiring our brain for happiness & success \nMindfulness is an integral tool for staying healthy in our fast-paced modern world. With this practice it’s possible to actually rewire our brains in a positive way and we are introduced to a basic techniques to begin this process. \nMarch 4th: We are not our thoughts \nLearn to recognize unconscious negative thought patterns and how to eliminate or alter them to create more positivity\, joy and peace within the mind. \nMarch 11th: No class. \nMarch 18th: Mindful Journaling \nSee why mindful journaling is considered such a healthy habit. We go over useful writing prompts and create our own personalized journal. \nMarch 25th: Importance of self-compassion \nWe are our own worst critics. We look at how this can be so detrimental to our lives and learn to practice self-love in a way that it benefits not just us\, but everyone around us. \nApril 1: No class. \nApril 8: Learning to let go. \nLetting go can be difficult.
